Dual Layer Dvd Disc
I have a problem. I am trying to copy The Godfather Part II onto a dual layer dvd. I normally use three programs: Mac the Ripper, Dvd2Onex and Popcorn. The problem is that I after I ripped the movie with Mac the Ripper and use Popcorn to select the fileset, Popcorn automatically wants to compress it. But I shouldn't need to compress it because the the size of the movie is only around 7 gigs and the dual layer can hold just over 8 gigs! What gives? I do not want to sacrifice quality with compressing it so what should I do? I also tried burning a .dmg of the movie using disk utility hoping to try and see if I could burn it in Pocorn that way. However, when I dragged the .dmg file into Popcorn it stated that it was 'not a valid DVD Video image'! I am confused. I think I should be able to burn the film without compressing it. Is there a way to do this? And if I have to burn a .dmg of the disk, how do I make it valid so that popcorn will understand it? Is there a better way to go about this?
Burning Dmg To Dvd Dual Layer Media
Sep 30, 2015 Bought Nero Burning Rom 2016 today. Burn image file to a double layer DVD fails with cannot perform Disk-at-once. Why on earth am I expected. A dual layer DVD is a DVD that has a recording space of 8.5 GB as opposed to the 4.7 of a single layer DVD. It features two recordable layers on a single DVD. It is also referred to as a double layer DVD and is usually written as DVD+R DL and DVD-R DL on the DVD media. Its recording speed is lower compared to that of single layers DVDs.
Greetings VideoHelp Forum! I have encountered a problem after burning my DVDStyler project in dual-layer DVD disc.
I'm new to this community, and I will try to help others with their problems, if i can.
So basically I've been using DVDStyler v.3.0.3 to burn my home videos into DVD. I've normally been using 4.7 Gb discs, and created a menu for the DVD, but there are some videos that I have burnt on dual-layer 8.5 Gb discs successfully, without a menu. When I burn 3 videos on a dual-layer disc (Verbatim DVD+R 8x), using a menu screen to select a certain video, the whole burning phase was done without errors.
The PROBLEM occurs when I start the DVD after it has finished burning. In the 3:rd video, (somewhere in the middle of the 3:rd video), the video just stops and the media player just crashes, without a error screen (problem occurs both with VLC player and windows media player). I burnt the files for a second time, thinking that the disc had some problem, but the same thing happened in the second disc.
Also to note that when i start the .vob files manually from the disc, it has all the content I initially selected to be burnt to the disc, but somehow the video crashes half way of the final video.
I'm kind of new to burning files to DVD, so would appreciate some help on this one. Could this be a layer break issue, and if it is, can I manually try to break the layers, or do I need to burn the videos on a new disc, and what should I be doing differently to avoid this problem?
